Feed Cost per Litre of Milk Calculator
Feed is the largest cost item on a farm. This calculator turns your daily ration into one number to compare: feed cost per litre of milk.
Feed per cow per day

Feed cost per cow per day
4.14 JOD
Herd feed cost per day
82.80 JOD
Feed cost per month (30 days)

Compare rations by this figure, not by price per tonne: a dearer ration that raises yield can lower the cost per litre.
In Lebnara feed cost per litre is calculated automatically from feed stock and daily milk records.
How to use
- Enter the number of milking cows and the herd's daily milk.
- Add each feed item with its amount per cow per day and its price per kilo.
- Try a different ration and compare the cost per litre.
Frequently asked questions
- What is a good feed cost per litre?
- It varies by country and feed prices. What matters is to track your figure monthly and compare it with the selling price per litre.
- Do I calculate feed as fed or dry weight?
- Here by weight as you buy and feed it, because the price is tied to it.
